Launched in 2012, with 13,114 participants, the Nagoya Women’s Marathon is certified by Guinness World Records as the largest women’s marathon in the world. This year, the marathon will welcome more than 20,000 runners, and serve as the final qualifier for the Japanese women’s marathon team. The race offers a $250,000 prize to the top finisher, the largest first prize in world marathon running for men or women. Kenya’s Ruth Chepngetich is the two-time defending champion of the race.

Oksana Masters - one of the most well-known US paralympians, will compete in para-cycling.

Bangladesh, England, India, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, and Pakistan have qualified alongside Australia, the six-time champions. Although Australia is the favorite to win, the retirement of Aussie Meg Lanning gives rivals a glimmer of hope. There are just two more global qualifier spots left to seal the field for the Cricket tournament.
