WELCOME TO “THE SHOW” ⚽
Bay FC’s match against the Washington Spirit on August 23rd at Oracle Park drew 40,091 fans, becoming the most-attended women’s professional sports league event ever in the U.S.
FIGHT NIGHT AT MSG 🥊
Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor headlined the first all-women’s professional boxing card in the U.S with an $18M purse on the line. The fight drew 6M viewers on Netflix, and made a record $2.63M at the gate at Madison Square Garden.
RUGBY LOVED BREAKING RECORDS 🏉
81,885 fans, the largest crowd in women’s rugby history, watched as England won the Women’s Rugby World Cup for the first time in 11 years. The final also reeled in an incredible 5.8M viewers across tv and streaming, according to BBC Sport.
THE TIGER LANDED ON TOP 🎾
Aryna Sabalenka ruled the court this year, winning back-to-back U.S. Open Titles and earning the most prize money on the WTA Tour. Sabalenka was also named WTA Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, joining Serena Williams and Iga Swiatek as the only back-to-back winners in the last 25 years.
A’JA WILSON COULDN’T STOP WINNING 🏀
A’ja became the first player in WNBA or NBA history to earn the following accolades in one season: MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Finals MVP, regular-season scoring title, and a championship. Off the court, Wilson released her signature shoe (which sold out in minutes), was named TIME Athlete of the Year, AP Athlete of the Year, and was named to the 2026 Met Gala Host Committee.
FIRST-TIME CHAMPS 🏐
LOVB Austin captured the inaugural League One Volleyball championship after an incredible playoff run, pulling off back-to-back reverse-sweep upsets, including a victory over top-seeded Atlanta. The fifth-seeded Austin carried that momentum straight into the finals, sweeping Omaha to claim the historic first title.
THE BIGGEST EUROS EVER ⚽
England won back-to-back Women’s EUROS in a tournament that shattered expectations for tournament attendance and viewership. The 2025 EURO saw 29 of 31 matches sellout and 12.2M fans tuned in to the final across BBC platforms.
THE GREATEST SHOW ON DIRT 🥎
The 2025 Women’s College World Series final was hit, becoming the most-watched NCAA softball game in history. Texas’s Reese Atwood and Teagan Kavan helped the Longhorns secure the championship over Texas Tech.
THE ONLY PHWL CHAMPIONS IN HISTORY 🏒
After qualifying for playoffs on the final day of the season, the Minnesota Frost launched a dominant postseason run to win its second consecutive PWHL Championship, complete with a dramatic overtime goal from Liz Schepers in game four of the Finals.
HISTORIC TRIPLE GOLD 🥇
Swiss wheelchair star Catherine Debrunner became the first athlete to win three gold medals at a single World Para Athletics Championships. She claimed titles in the 5000m T54, 800m T53, and won while setting a championship record in the 1500m T54.
A HISTORIC SPLASH 🏊
In one of the greatest single-meet performances in swimming history, Summer McIntosh shattered three world records in five days at the Canadian trials for the World Championships – a feat not seen since Michael Phelps in 2008. The 18-year-old swimmer broke marks in the 400m free, 200m IM, and lowered her own 400m IM record.
